dir Claire Pasvolsky wins at the Australian Directors Guild Awards for Best Direction in a Feature Film (Budget under $1M)

Biography:

Harriet is currently working on her own projects as an independent filmmaker as well as seeking work as a development producer or post-production co-ordinator. In an eclectic career she has worked as General Manager of the Australian Directors Guild, co-ordinator of Screen NSW's development lab Aurora and as an editor/ editing assist among other roles. In 2012 she returned to study at the International Film School Sydney (now AFFT) to focus on her creative work and learn more about digital pathways. Her successful graduation film BACKWARDS SHOWGIRL VARIATION, a comedy about pole dancing and older women in Sydney’s Inner West is the inspiration for a TV series in development ALLEGRA BOX SPLITS. Another recent film SMILE documents a vibrant local portrait project by photographer Tawfik Elgazzar. It has screened at over twenty festivals internationally including Palm Springs Shortfest. Harriet has also exhibited as a visual artist, worked in a call centre and dabbled in acting. However her fifteen minutes of fame came early; at six months old in a private jet, heading to a film set, sitting on John Lennon's knee.
