Harriet McKern is a Director who also writes and produces.
Harriet is an independent emerging Director interested in drama, comedy and documentary. In 2015 she graduated from the International Film School Sydney (now AFFT) with 'Backwards Showgirl Variation', a comedy about older women in Sydney’s Inner West. Her most recent film 'Smile' explores a local community photographic project Flash Hub by Tawfik Elgazzar. In an eclectic career Harriet has worked as General Manager of the Australian Directors Guild, Co-ordinator of Screen NSW's development lab Aurora and an editor/ editing assistant. She has also exhibited as a visual artist, dabbled in acting and recently co-ordinated the Screen Women Series II event series to nurture the talents of women filmmakers. However her fifteen minutes of fame came early; at six months old in a private jet to the Bahamas sitting on John Lennon's knee.
